Marianne Love has over twenty years of counselling experience. She loves seeing the transformation in people’s lives and is passionate about living in a world where people are happier and resourced to live their full potential.
Marianne tailors the techniques she uses to the specific needs of each client, and she enjoys utilising a variety of person-centred therapies. Marianne is able to work with people from a wide variety of backgrounds and concerns. Marianne deals extensively with complex trauma.
Marianne works collaboratively with her clients to identify and reach their goals. She believes that the therapeutic relationship is key to her clients achieving these goals. She believes in providing a safe place that her clients can feel respected and unconditional positive regard. She works from a premise that within each of us is love, kindness, care, and unique gifts. The therapeutic work involves reconnecting with these qualities and letting go of thoughts, emotions and beliefs that get in the way of knowing these parts of self deeply.
With extensive training in cognitive behavioural therapy and interpersonal therapy, and she also has a keen interest in experiential methods. She's completed 10 years of training in psychodrama, and has also trained in emotion-focused therapy and eye movement desensitization reprocessing therapy (EMDR).
