How do I choose a therapist?
The quality of your connection and relationship with your therapist is essential for your overall treatment. It is important you feel a strong rapport and that your therapist is able to hear and understand your concerns.
We invite you to call and discuss your specific interest and needs with our staff who will best place you with a psychologist or therapist at the practice.
Some key questions you may want to consider:
- The number of years of experience the therapist has
- Their specialty areas
- The type of therapy they engage with
And after the first session:
- Did I feel a sense of connection with the therapist?
- Did I like them?
- Did I feel heard and understood?
- Did I feel a sense of safety?
- Are we able to set some workable treatment goals together?
