Cognitive Assessment

Aspire Health and Psychology offers cognitive assessments to address a variety of questions commonly asked by parents such as:

. Is my child exhibiting any particular cognitive difficulties or impairments?

. Is my child gifted?

. My child seems to be good at some things but struggles with other things. Does this impact him at school or kindergarten?

. Does my child have problems with memory?

. Does my child have processing difficulties?

Cognitive Assessments are able to give us information about a child’s general intellectual ability, in addition to specific information about their strengths and areas of weakness.

This can be extremely beneficial to ensuring a child’s success, particularly at school, as it helps identify areas that require additional support and what skills a child possesses.

Sometimes an assessment may be needed to support a funding application at school or for accessing further services.

Our Cognitive Assessment Package includes the following:

  1. Parent Only Consultation with the child psychologist to discuss family history, challenges and other relevant information pertaining to the assessment. (Please allow up to 2 hours)
  2. Child Session – Cognitive Assessment (Please allow up to 2 hours)
  3. Parent only consultation (report and feedback session) with the Child   Psychologist. (Please allow up to 2 hours)
