Ari Goldberger – Psychologist

Master of Psychology (Counselling)

Ari has extensive experience working in clinical settings, including psychiatric hospitals, drug and alcohol clinics, and community mental health facilities. He has worked from a medical model providing assessment, diagnosis and treatment of various mental health conditions in order to clarify and provide the best therapeutic outcome for his clients. In addition to his clinical practice, he has also worked in private practice, counselling those who are experiencing more general mental health issues and/or stress as well as other more complicated issues commonly encountered throughout life. Finally, Ari has worked the criminal justice system, including prisons and other correctional facilities, focusing on the rehabilitation and treatment of offending behaviour specific to men in a group-therapy format.

Ari ensures that his therapeutic approach is tailored to the individual client. Essentially, Ari adopts a person-centered approach, aiming to provide a collaborative approach to therapy to work together with the client to identify problematic issues, build on the client’s personal strengths and make positive steps to change. Ari understand the unique presenting difficulties of each client and strives to help individuals build a higher level of insight into themselves, to develop their resilience and coping skills in order to make effective and sustainable changes.
